Richard L. Burstein, Special Counsel Email Address: rburstein@nolanandheller.com Rich’s practice focuses on corporate and securities and commercial litigation matters involving, among other things, securities, regulatory, intellectual property and labor law issues. He has represented investment bankers, investment advisors, investment companies and publicly-traded companies in securities-related transactions under the 1933 and 1934 Acts, including Regulation D transactions, and has many years of experience representing individuals, businesses and pension plans at NASD, NYSE and AAA arbitration proceedings concerning issues such as unsuitability, churning, fraud, misrepresentation and failure to execute. Rich has represented clients before State and Federal regulators, including the SEC, the NASD (FINRA), and at the NYSE; represented clients in the wine and liquor industry, involving New York State Liquor Authority licensing issues, and the defense of licensees in an NYS Attorney General’s investigation of the wine and liquor industry; and represented clients in the equine and gaming industries, involving NYS Racing and Wagering Board and NYS Division of Lottery regulatory matters. In Rich’s intellectual property law practice he has defended clients against copyright and trademark infringement and unfair competition claims, and in his labor and employment law practice he has represented clients in both public and private sectors in negotiations, contract administration and proceedings before the NLRB, PERB and SLRB. Rich also has experience in complex lending and commercial transactions, representing borrowers, lenders, buyers and sellers. Rich served for many years on the Board and as Chairman of the Capital District Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
