Rich Weiner has spent his entire legal career at Nolan & Heller, becoming a partner in 1977. Rich's practice is concentrated in the areas of creditor's rights, corporate reorganizations and bankruptcy, commercial loan workouts and commercial litigation. He has represented major secured creditors in Bankruptcy Court cases in the Northern and Southern Districts of New York, as well as other jurisdictions around the country, involving national hotel chains, manufacturing concerns, shopping centers and office buildings. Rich has also successfully represented debtors in some of the largest Chapter 11 cases filed in the Northern District of New York, including a multi-state building products manufacturer and distributor, a family of insurance companies, and a national outerwear manufacturer.

Rich served for twenty years as a member of the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee Panel for the Northern District of New York, and was a member of the Committee on the Revision of the Local Bankruptcy Rules for the Northern District of New York. He has frequently lectured on bankruptcy at Albany Law School, and participates in continuing legal education seminars on bankruptcy topics. Rich has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America, in the category of bankruptcy attorneys, since the inception of that service.

Rich has public company board experience and has also been active in community affairs, including service as counsel to the not-for-profit corporation that operates Albany's Palace Theatre, and service as President of the Albany Attack professional indoor lacrosse team.

  • Recapitalization of a national manufacturing company
  • Southern District of New York Bankruptcy Court litigation involving a significant leasehold interest in a port
